My name is Bianca van Bloois. My family and I moved in 2002 from Holland to Canada. We live in Prince George, a small community approximately 900 km north of Vancouver. We have 3 children and own a restaurant, gas station and a general store along the Highway 97. We are located on the Northern British Columbia portion of the Alaska Circle Route and we invite you to stop by and visit us at our Windy Point Restaurant and Store.
Our 6 acre property is in a remote and rural location surrounded by government crown land that is filled with lots of trails and lakes to explore. We go everywhere with a four wheeler (quad) in the summer and a snowmobile in the winter, or of course on one of our horses. We are surrounded by wildlife; moose, elk, deer, black bear, grizzly bear, wolves, foxes, coyotes and soo much more. This type of environment is so fun for our dogs with so many scents to stimulate their natural behavior of tracking.
The first time we saw a Dogo was in 1991 and we fell in love with the breed instantly! In 1993 we finally had our first Dogo and many more have followed since. It is an addicting breed and we find we just can't have only one!
For us it is very important that the dogs get their exercise everyday as this keeps them physically and mentally healthy. All of our dogs live together with other pets and children in the house. It is important to us to socialize our dogs early to living with other animals and people of all ages. We have found the Dogo to be a docile breed of dog when properly trained, and they are always looking for a loving touch, a pat on the head, and they would rather lay down on your feet that at your feet!
Health, temperament, and beauty in our dogs is very important to us. We would like to show our dogs, however, the Dogo is not currently a recognized breed by the CKC (Canadian Kennel Club). Contact Us if you would like to find out more about our Dogo's. |
